The Real Reason Behind Why I Write

Yes, I do it for money.
I have been preparing myself to answer this to someone who asks (or asserts), you write for money? Because why not? Practically, everyone does it for money.
There is a reason no one sells their services for free.
Money is a universal motivator.
But it is not about money entirely. If I wanted only money, I could have done anything. I take pride in the fact that I am an above-average, extraordinary, multi-talented, multi-programmed lady. (No, I am not self-obsessed, just stating facts. 😉)
I have talents other than writing too. But I chose WRITING as a profession. And the reason is simple.
I LOVE WRITING!
It is genetic. It is a family trait. And I have been doing it since my childhood. Reading books and writing diaries.
At the age of 16, I had written 16 personal diaries. In my native language and in English. They were my best friends since my childhood. Short passages. My thoughts. Experiences. Quotes. Poetry. Sketches. Drawings. Recipes.
My aim was clear: I will be doing it for the rest of my life.
I love the process. I love the diversity it holds. I love the never-ending information. I love the magic words do. I love the results writing begets. I love holding a pen and ink, leaving designs on paper. I love the soft and fast taps on the keyboard, with letters appearing on the screen. I know I put so much effort and love into every writing piece I create, some of them my most beloved pieces.
Most of all, I love the refreshing feeling of heavy burdens lifting off my shoulders when I am done writing.
So, it’s not just about money. It’s about turning passion into a profession. It’s about doing what I love. It’s about loving what I do.
This way, I know I will never be bored with my job.
